Our Sustainability Mission & Commitment

Sustainability at Paragon Films goes beyond producing the industry’s thinnest stretch film—a superior product that significantly reduces waste. Sustainability Without Sacrifice™ is about empowering our clients to achieve their sustainability goals without sacrificing performance or cost savings. We are minimizing our environmental footprint and passionately leading others with integrity and excellence to do the same to secure a better future for our communities, customers, shareholders, employees, and their families.

At Paragon Films, we are deeply committed to conducting our engagement activities in alignment with global environmental treaties and policy goals. Our dedication to sustainability is reflected in every aspect of our operations, from product development to community outreach. We actively collaborate with international partners to ensure our practices support the objectives of key environmental agreements, such as the Paris Agreement and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. By integrating these global standards into our strategic planning and daily operations, we strive to minimize our environmental footprint and contribute to a healthier, more sustainable future for all.

Our Sustainability Commitment

At Paragon Films, sustainability isn’t just part of what we do, it is the foundation of who we are. Every product we engineer, every process we optimize, and every partnership we build is rooted in a deep commitment to environmental responsibility and performance excellence.

Introducing Our New Slogan: Sustainability Without Sacrifice

We’re proud to unveil our new logo and slogan: Sustainability Without Sacrifice™. This phrase captures our belief that businesses shouldn’t have to choose between performance, cost-efficiency, and environmental stewardship. Our clients deserve solutions that deliver all three, and we’re here to make that possible.

Sustainability without Sacrifice

What does it mean?

  • Without sacrificing performance: Our ultra-high-performance stretch films and certified PCR films are engineered to be thinner and stronger, reducing material use while maintaining load integrity.
  • Without sacrificing cost: Lower cost per pallet wrapped and improved efficiency, translating to real savings.
  • Without sacrificing the planet: Our lifecycle approach to product design minimizes virgin plastic waste and carbon footprint, supporting circularity and responsible resource use.

Most importantly, the new slogan differentiates Paragon Films as an innovator and leader, providing superior quality products to help customers meet EPR law requirements without sacrifice.

How We Deliver on This Commitment

We integrate the best resins, latest technology, and top talent with visionary problem-solving skills into every stage of our product lifecycle, from formulation to end-user application. Our stretch films are among the thinnest in the industry, helping customers reduce landfill waste and carbon emissions while improving operational efficiency.

We also invest in:

  • Post-consumer recycled content: Our Beyond PCR™ films contain 25% certified recycled material, verified by SCS Global Services.
  • AI-powered systems: These tools help us reduce energy use and emissions across our facilities.
  • Waste recovery programs: Guided by Operation Clean Sweep, we’re committed to keeping plastic out of waterways and landfills.

Why It Matters

Sustainability is more than a corporate goal, it is a shared responsibility. We owe it to our communities, our planet, and our partners to lead with integrity and innovation. By choosing Paragon Films, our clients join us in building a future where sustainability and performance go hand in hand.

Why Does Paragon Films Report to the CDP?

Paragon Films is proud to be a CDP Discloser. We have been reporting to the CDP annually since 2021, and we’d like to explain why we do it.

We hope that through our disclosure to CDP, we can better understand and better our impact on the environment. By disclosing, we are prepared to handle the increasing demand for environmental transparency from investors, customers, and policymakers.

In February 2025, we received a B for 2024 disclosures. More details can be found on the CDP website.

Our Commitment to Developing Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) Stretch Film

Using PCR in our stretch films is a development effort our R&D team is actively working on. Our newest hand film, Power Edge PCR™, takes reducing virgin plastic use to the next level.  By replacing the amount of virgin plastic used in the film with post-consumer recycled content, we are helping our customers with their sustainability goals.

Paragon Films remains the leader in providing the most sustainable packaging solutions. Our products help customers reduce the amount of virgin plastics in their transportation packaging. We prove this every day with our industry-leading process, “Destination Secured” and our Client Analysis Reports which specifically identify the sustainability savings.

Our Products and Packaging Components are Easy to Recycle

Did you know every pallet of Paragon Films stretch film we deliver has packaging components that can be recycled? It’s all part of our commitment to sustainability and a “lifecycle” approach to stretch film engineering. Watch our recycling videos to learn everything you need to know about recycling the packaging of our bulk handfilm, case packed handfilm, and machine film products.

A Message from Paragon Films CEO Darin Tang

At Paragon Films, sustainability is not a department or an initiative. It is at the core of who we are. It drives how we innovate, operate, and lead. Our commitment goes beyond producing the industry’s thinnest stretch film, a product that reduces waste and carbon footprint while delivering superior performance. It’s about creating a lasting, positive impact for our customers, communities, shareholders, employees, and their families.

We approach sustainability holistically, incorporating science, technology, and continuous improvement into every stage of our product lifecycle. From design and formulation to end-user applications, we engineer solutions that deliver value while reducing environmental harm. Our certified Beyond PCR™ films, 25% post-consumer recycled content, are a key part of this mission. Verified by SCS Global Services, these products support circularity by transforming used film into high-performance stretch film.

We’ve also made major operational strides. From AI-powered maintenance systems to our waste recovery program guided by Operation Clean Sweep, we are investing in technology that reduces energy, cuts emissions, and increases efficiency. Our continued participation in CDP reporting reflects our commitment to accountability. In 2024, we earned a “B” score, placing us well above industry and regional averages.

But perhaps the most significant change in our industry is the rise of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) laws across the U.S. States like California (SB 54), Colorado, Oregon, Maine, Washington, and New Jersey are shifting the responsibility for packaging waste management to producers. These new laws require packaging producers to fund and operate programs that improve recycling, reduce landfill waste, and move us closer to a circular economy.

We support this movement. Paragon Films is actively working with the Circular Action Alliance (CAA)—the first approved Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO) in the U.S. to ensure we meet the evolving compliance requirements in each state.

Looking ahead, our commitment to sustainability remains stronger than ever. We will continue to invest in new technologies, design even more sustainable products, and work with our customers, communities, and regulatory partners to create a lasting impact.

Together, we’re not just making better stretch film. We’re building a better future.

Paragon Films is committed to minimizing packaging waste. We reuse or recycle most pallets and excess plastic material generated by our manufacturing process. This is often referred to as PIR (post-industrial recycled) material. Paragon Films promotes sustainability by investing in technologies to produce superior thin gauge films which reduce waste and overall carbon footprint. Paragon Films uses a mix of polypropylene and polyethylene resins in its stretch film. Products are designed for recyclability. Please check with your local recycling center to determine its ability to recycle our film. Post-consumer stretch film is extremely sought after to be recycled into a variety of products including bags, shrink films, sheet and lumber applications.
